Verona is known as a city of love. It is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy,
owing to its artistic heritage, several annual fairs, shows, and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena, the ancient amphitheater built by the Romans.
Three of Shakespeare’s plays are set in Verona: Romeo and Juliet, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and The Taming of the Shrew. The city has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture.
Verona is approx. 121 km that’s about 1 hour and 19 minutes of driving the car. We’ve stayed in hotel Airport Verona. The hotel is situated 11 km from the center of Verona, and it is 4 stars hotel. Everything was fine accepted the WiFi network it is very poor and for the breakfast they could put more salami. You can also pay for the garage 9 € per day or you can use the free parking lot in front of the hotel.
The cheapest price of the parking that we’ve fond is 5 € per day at Via Citta di Nimes nearby Porta Nuova Trainstation. Verona is a big city and you’ll need at least 2 days for sightseeing and shopping. The first day we have looked around and get to know the city, and the 2nd day we’ve bought the group tickets for sightseeing it has costing us only 18 € per person.
If you have kids, don’t worry Verona can offer you a blast during your visit with special programs and directions make you children a good time. Find out more on this link.
On this link you can see the free WiFi spots all around the city of Verona.
You cannot go to Verona and not try gnocchi and tortellini because that is their authentic dish. It isn’t the same quality if you try that dish in other city of Italy. We’ve also tried the food in one Mexican restaurant. This restaurant is full ever night and my recommendation is to reserve the table one day before. The first day we got lucky after 20 minutes of waiting for free table and that night we have immediately made reservation for the next day. The prices are affordable. The food is divine. Forget what you heard on the spiciness of Mexican food, when we saw the food I forgot to take a picture how good and delicious it was looked.
